Movers are offered a few different options by the Department of Transportation for giving estimates or estimating moves.
1. hourly which includes per man
2. by weight
3. general binding estimate.
Which is more cost effective?
We believe that general binding estimate is more cost effective to you the customer. This means we give one price, and it will not change unless the shipment inventory has drastically changed.
It does not matter how long the move takes or how many men are used. In the end you will know exactly how much your move will cost, no surprises.
Reliable Movers has several different ways of pricing moves because we operate on General Binding Estimate. Since we do not offer by the hour or by weight we price our residential moves by the truck size and space used.
Offering prices by the truck size give us a guideline for pricing. For a 26 foot truck we price by how full it is. 1/4 ,1/2, 3/4, or full.
Many times customers do not understand how much inventory they actually have. Setting up a free in home estimate will assist on how much space you will need.
By using this system it also gives customers the ability to stop at 3/4 or full, opting to take the smaller loose items by their own transport to save money.
How much space do I need?
An average 1-2 bedroom apartment will fit into a 16 foot cube truck.
An average home of 3 bedrooms will fit into a 26 foot truck.
After reviewing your inventory a truck size will be determined. The price for the truck includes, men, gas, labor, shrink wrapping, break down and set up of bedroom furniture, moving pads, dollies, and 1 trip.
Excessive walk ways, stair carry, extra stops, or additional trips can change the normal truck price.
The truck is loaded to its fullest capacity, utilizing every space available.

All shipments within New York State are valued at .60 per pound as per NYSDOT law. You have the option of full valuation insurance at a additional cost.
Full value claims go directly to the cargo insurance company have a $500.00 automatic deductible the customer is responsible for.
Our rates are all inclusive. Truck, labor, fuel, break down and set up of your furniture, pads/shrink wrapping, and insurance is included in our rates. 2-7 men are included in these rates.
All inclusive moving prices for one 26 foot truck, one trip:
1/2 of a 26 foot truck $1400.00
3/4 of a 26 foot truck $1700.00
Full 26 foot truck $2100.00
All inclusive pricing for one 28 foot truck, 1 trip
1/2 of a 28 foot truck $1600.00
3/4 of a 28 foot truck $2100.00
Full 28 foot truck $2600.00
We are not offering the 16 foot truck at this time. All shipments start at a minimum of 1/2 of a 26 foot truck during peak season April to September.

1/2 of a 16 foot truck $800.00
Full 16 foot truck $1100.00

Hot tubs
Hot tubs range from $400.00 to $1000.00.
Pricing depends on pick up location and drop off. Decks, stair carry, distance in placement effect the pricing. All hot tubs must be drained and disconnected from the power.
Gun Safes range from $300.00 to $1000.00.
Pricing depending on weight location of pick up (basement, 2nd floor) as well as location of placement/drop off. A good measure of gun safe pricing is typically $1.00 per lb.
Store delivery
Store deliveries range in pricing from $50.00 to $300.00 depending on the amount of items and placement of pieces.
Professional Packing $23.00 per box.
Box, labor, and material are included in the price. Wardrobe and pictures box prices vary.
Pianos
Pianos range from $300.00-$500.00
Baby Grands range from $500.00 -$1000.00
Pricing depends on pick up location, areas for pick up and drop off. Stair carry, weight, type of piano.
Storage
Storage is $250.00 to $350.00 per month depending on unit sizing.
We offer climate controlled storage. Storage is billed in 30 day increments regardless if you use the 30 days or not.
